Clever1750 media center

The new upgraded version of the Clever Technologies Clever1750 looks like any normal piece of home entertainment equipment and is designed to sit beneath your TV/plasma/LCD screen where your Freeview digibox or VCR or DVD player would normally go. This single box replaces them all and will change the way you watch and record TV forever.

Essentially the Clever1750 is a high specification PC running Windows Vista Home Premium (Media Center) on an Intel Core2 Duo E6750 processor: in fact it has been designed specifically for Media Center, and it brings the convenience of all of your home entertainment equipment into a single, very user friendly, device that looks like any normal piece of home entertainment equipment with its brushed aluminium facia. Like normal TVs (but unlike PCs) the Clever1750 has an instant on/off switch.

NB: The Clever1750 is designed for plasma and LCD screens. It does not support output to a conventional CRT TV.

The Clever1750 replaces your:

• TV tuner/Freeview digibox, the Clever1750 replaces your terrestrial TV tuner or your Freeview digibox having two digital TV tuners. A hand held remote control, with its "back to home" green button, which makes the system very easy to use, is supplied as part of the package
• DVD player, with High Definition Multimedia Interface video output (HDMI) for the ultimate pictures on your large plasma or LCD screen, and Dolby Digtal 7.1 surround sound that you can connect directly into your AV amplifier or AV receiver to give a true home cinema experience
• DVD recorder, with a soft touch optical drive tray and the two TV tuners that allow you to record one programme whist watching another or record two programmes simultaneously. The Clever1750 also allows you to 'pause' live TV and even 'rewind' live TV for a short time when you haven't tried to record it
• CD player either as a single disc player, or with the hard disc (500Gb, expandable) storage on the Clever1750, you can store your whole music library, in either uncompressed or compressed eg MP3, format and have them instantly available for play back through your HiFi system
• WiFi PC computer, since this is an impressive Intel Core2 Duo processor based computer. This allows you to perform all of the normal PC functions using the Clever1750, including surfing the Internet, but using your plasma or LCD screen as the viewing device. A Microsoft Infrared keyboard is supplied as part of the package
• BluRay or HD-DVD plus BluRay disc player (Options on basic 1750) to allow you to get the best high definition output for your screen. The BluRay option upgrades your Media Center to give FullHD (1080p) video using the more popular BluRay Disc (BD) format, but by opting for the HD Combo version you can enjoy playing both disc formats.

NB: If you wish to connect Sky to the system you should specify the tuners as analogue. This will allow your Sky box to be directly connected, use the S-video and stereo audio outputs from Sky into the Clever1750 and select this as your Sky box connection during the set-up procedure.
