Like its bigger brother the Marantz LC3201e, the Marantz LC2601 LCD TV is one of the best
connected flat screen TVs you will come across. Add to that the HDTV ready screen with excellent video
processing for artifact free pictures and stylish surround and the LC2601 is hard to beat, and ideal for a bedroom, kitchen or even as a wide screen for your computer.
The Marantz LC2601 high resolution WXGA flat TV has a true 16:9 widescreen screen with 1366x708 pixels, giving you 1080i or 720p HDTV. A common problem with LCD
TVs is the pixels' response time - the result this is poor images and pixel drag when watching fast moving images; this
Marantz LC2601 LCD TV has a pixel response time of just 8ms, meaning that sports action has minimal pixel drag.
The Marantz LC2601 has built-in a DVB-T (digital freeview) and analogue tuner allowing you to watch digital TV or normal terrestrial TV but also to watch
video output from a VCR or other modulated signal, eg video distributed around your home, see here.
The LC2601 has electronic freeview guide and teletext and is suitable for PAL and SECAM broadcasts. It also has SRS TruSurround for an incredible virtual surround
sound experience without adding extra speakers.
The Marantz LC2601 is supplied with detachable stereo speakers, that can be fixed on the sides of the screen, as photo above, or underneath the screen see photo below.
It also comes complete with a table top stand.
Digital connectivity
A special feature of the Marantz LC2601 is the use of DVI digital video inputs with HDCP. This ensures the highest video
quality possible, and is best for SkyHD, high definition Telewest or high definition satellite broadcast by the BBC. By avoiding the conversion from digital
to analogue and then back again on the display equipment, the image remains at its original crystal clear quality.
Examples of other video sources with digital outputs include the
Pixel Magic HD MediaBox and the
Marantz DV6600 DVD player. Both of these have HDMI outputs and connect using HDMI to DVI adaptors or
HDMI to DVI cables for the best quality video. (Audio connections would use the stereo phono connections)
The Marantz LC2601 comes with the RC1400 remote control.
If you require a larger screen, consider the Marantz LC3201e version of this LCD TV, the LC23201. The specification is identical to that
of the LC2601 with the only difference being the 32" screen rather than the 26" screen
