The new Marantz DV6001 is a high-performance multi format DVD player that incorporates advanced digital technologies for
extraordinary picture quality. It improves upon the DV4001, by amongst other things, the addition of upconversion to Full HD 1080p resolution.
The DV6001 is optimised for true, high-end audiophile performance, for music and movies. Virtually any 12cm disc can be played
back including DVD-A, DVD-V, DVD-R/RW, SACD, CD-R/RW discs. It also handles compressed audio discs containing MP3, DivX or WMA files.
Video upconversion to Full HD 1080p
The new Marantz DV6001 DVD player benefits from video upconversion to 1080p. "Upconversion" is the term used to describe the conversion of a lower
image resolution to an apparently higher one. In order to achieve that higher resolution, the DV6001 player fills in additional image data by assessing
existing pixels and intelligently predicting what the surrounding pixels should look like.
Upconversion is a great feature for owners of HD Ready digital TVs who want to watch their DVDs at a higher resolution that more closely matches
the capabilities of their TV. With the Marantz DV6001 upconverting to Full HD you get the best possible picture from your existing DVDs on a Full HD
screen such as the Panasonic 50" TH-50PF9BK, 65" TH-65PF9BK,
103" TH-103PF9BK or the Pioneer 50" PDP-5000EX.
