Homeplug is a revolution in
connectivity, using your existing electrical outlets to create a Local Area Network,
so you can share information between several computers, share printers and
connect your private network to the Internet. You can now install a
network anywhere you have power!
The Solwise HomePlug PL-85PEW (MK2) Homeplug Ethernet Adaptor provides "No New Wires" communications to any room, over the electrical
cables, at speeds of up to 85Mbps, with the added benefit of a built in 54Mbps Access Point. This makes it ideal for getting WiFi transmissions
through thick walls or other difficult areas.
The Solwise HomePlug PL-85PEW uses the Intellon 85Mbps Turbo chipset which means this adapter is compatible with the rest of the Solwise range. The built-in Wireless Access
Point uses the Infineon Wildpass Chipset - this solution transforms your home mains circuit into a networking infrastructure and a WLAN connection.
The Solwise HomePlug PL-85PEW is ideal for anyone who wants to extend their wireless signal coverage for Internet access or to make an internal network.
Built-in Quality of Service (QOS) for HomePlug also provides the necessary bandwidth for multimedia payloads including Broadband TV (IPTV), higher
data rate broadband sharing, Online-Gaming, VoIP Calls, Wireless LANs coverage, Audio-Video transmission across the network as well as Network camera connectivity.
The Solwise HomePlug PL-85PEW is easy to install and use. It plugs straight in to any existing wall electrical socket while having a low power consumption. It
comes with 56 bit DES encryption ensuring that your network communication is free from eavesdroppers and hackers. The AutoMDI/MDIX functionality also
simplifies and ensures a hassle free installation.
The antenna is removable - Reverse SMA Connector - and can be replaced with an antenna of higher gain if necessary.

Technical Tip
If you find that the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of the PL-200AV-PEW has an IP address in a different range from that used by your PC then you will need to temporarily change it. For example if your existing router
and PC are in the address range 192.168.0.x (where x is in the range 1-254) but you are trying to get into the GUI of the PL-200AV-PEW which is on the address 192.168.1.1 which is in the range 192.168.1.x you will need to temporarily change the address on your PC to an address in the 192.168.1.x range in order to get into the GUI of the PEW.
Once you are into the GUI you can then change the address used by the PEW to one in your normal 192.168.0.x range. Then, with the address on the PEW changed you can then reset the address on your PC and you are now able to access the PEW with your normal network address settings.
