With seven 3D supporting HDMIv1.4a inputs, video upconversion to 1080p HDMI and seven channels at 110 Watts per channel,
the Marantz SR6006 is an excellent AV receiver.
This upgraded Marantz SR6006 receiver replaces the SR6005 and incorporates the latest generation of digital surround decoding technology with automatic selection.
Marantz include the EQ Room Acoustic Calibration system by Audyssey DSX and PRO,
which automatically optimises the sound to the room.
This new Marantz SR6006 upgrade from the SR6005 has added:
- Network/streaming (Internet radio, Napster, Rhapsody, Flicker, DLNA, AirPlay, firmware updates and remote maintenance). This means that with a Marantz SR6006 you effectively have a built-in
Sonos ZonePlayer.
- Control using Apple iOS devices such as iPod Touch and iPhone using the free Marantz Wizz App

The Marantz SR6006 improves upon the Marantz SR5006 model by the addition of:
- Higher power output (110W/channel vs 100W/channel on SR5006)
- 7 HDMI1.4a inputs for digital audio and video including Deep Colour support (compared to 6 in and 1 out for the SR5006)
- Audyssey DSX and MultiEQ XT Pro (in addition to Audyssey MultiEQ XT on SR5006)
- Two simultaneous HDMI outputs, ideal for projector/TV combinations

- 7.2 output (compared to 7.1 output on SR5006)

Digital connectivity
The Marantz SR6006 includes a 7 in 1 out HDMI 1.4a digital video switcher. This ensures that the
highest video quality
is activated when required and allows you to switch between six 3D HDMI digital sources,
directly into your LCD or plasma display or projector.
Audessey Technologies included:
- DSX: expands surround sound beyond 5.1 with more speakers for an incredibly immersive and realistic home cinema experience
- MultEQ-XT: automatically customises your home cinema system to overcome the acoustical problems specific to your room
- Dynamic EQ: maintains bass and rich sound at low volumes
- Dynamic Volume: controls volume levels to eliminate spikes and raise soft dialogue for more enjoyable television and movie viewing
Music
Marantz’s proprietary M-DAX2 (Marantz Dynamic Audio eXpander) makes even compressed audio signals (MP3s, AM/FM broadcasts, etc.) sound closer
to CDs than you ever thought possible. As it dynamically analyses a compressed signal, MDAX2 recreates the missing high frequency spectrum
for your enhanced enjoyment.
The multi-source, multi-room ability of the Marantz SR6006 allows you to select an independent audio source for a second room.
The Marantz SR6006 comes with the RC011SR remote control. This has an LCD display read out for complete and user friendly control feedback. It also has programmable keys for
entire system control by assigning IR commands from any device, into one learning remote, and macro function keys that ensure multiple IR commands activated with
one key for maximum ease of use.
Streaming music
You can enjoy streaming audio content from online music services like Napster as well as from your own shared media files. Access thousands
of Internet radio stations from all over the world. This means that with a Marantz SR6006 you effectively have a built-in
Sonos ZonePlayer.
The Airplay function allows you to stream music directly from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, so if you have Spotify, then you can stream this through
your AV receiver using the iPhone as a controller and with the benefit of the quality DAC and the power in the Marantz AVR.
The Marantz SR6006 can also receive music transmitted from your iPhone, Android and other Bluetooth enabled smart phones by virtue of its M-XPort,
which allows you to connect the optional RX101 Bluetooth wireless receiver.
Control by iPhone/iPod Touch
You can use the Marantz 'Wizz App' on your iPhone or iPod to directly control the Marantz AV receiver (download free from the iTunes App store).
This only applies to the networked AV receivers
such as the SR7005, SR6006, SR5006, NR1602 and the NA7004 Network Audio Player. If you have Marantz equipment with the 'D-Bus' remote control (orange
co-ax connector on rear) connected to the AV receiver, eg Marantz Blu-ray players, CD players, etc then these will also be controlled via the network
AV receiver.
Wizz App comes preloaded with key functionality such as Main/2nd/3rd Zone Power On/Off, Volume Up/Down, Mute On/Off, Input selection,
Tuner control, Menu control by cursor and Disc player basic control. Also available from Wizz App are Playback controls such as File selection,
Play, Pause, Stop, etc of music/photo contents stored on a PCs or NAS drives that are connected to your home network.
