Marantz SR8002 AV Receiver

With superior audio performance and state of the art featuring, the Marantz SR8002 is a true centrepiece in any AV system.

The Marantz SR8002 THX Select2 receiver incorporates the latest generation of digital surround decoding technology with automatic selection. Marantz include their own Room Acoustic Calibration microphone system which automatically optimises the sound to the room.

This new Marantz SR8002 upgrade has added:

• Dedicated decoder for Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD sound processing for High Definition (HD) Audio from Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD
• HDMI switching is now v1.3 rather than v1.2, making it suitable for Blu-ray eg PS3
• The HDMI switcher now has two HDMI outputs not one from the four inputs
• Audio enhancer for all compressed audio formats such as MP3, WAV, AAC, etc
• Neural Surround, Dolby Headphone and Dolby Virtual Speaker 2
• Speaker C function for real bi-amping of front channel in 5.1 set-up

As a THX Select2 certificatied AV receiver - and power output of 125 Watts rms from each of its seven current-feedback amplifiers - the Marantz SR8002 will recreate the sonic impact of dynamic movie soundtracks in the largest rooms. Technologies like THX Select2 provide uncompromised 7.1 channel playback of any multi-channel program, whether it’s movie soundtracks or music, over the widest possible seating area.

Digital connectivity

The Marantz SR8002 has incorporated 4 in and 2 out HDMI 1.3 sockets with deep colour technology, making it ready to handle current as well as tomorrow’s technology as full HD video and HD audio as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD. Together with a built in audio enhancer for compressed audio as mp3, WAV and AAC, upconversion from analogue signals including I/P conversion to HDMI and possibilities to create a multi room audio and video environment the SR8002 is an investment for many years to come.

You can easily convert from HDMI to DVI using a simple adaptor without any loss of video quality.

The Marantz SR8002 comes with the RC8001SR pre-programmed remote control. This has an LCD display read out for complete and user-friendly control feedback. It also has programmable keys for entire system control by assigning IR commands from any device, into one learning remote, and macro function keys that ensure multiple IR commands activated with one key for maximum ease of use.
