The Marantz IS301 hand-held iPod dock brings all the sonic benefits of an audiophile dock and offers Bluetooth connectivity
between the iPod and your equipment.
The Marantz IS301 package consists of three parts:
- the Bluetooth enabled receiver with the audio and video connections, that connects to your stereo amplifier/TV/AV receiver
- the docking station that can be free-standing or wall mounted
- the Bluetooth (A2DP) adaptor module that fits onto your iPod
What makes the Marantz IS301 different from other iPod docks?
In addition to outputing your music from your iPod and charging it, the IS301 allows you to
- output video stored on your iPod, including High Defintion video, to an HDTV screen using component video (or S-Video or Composite Video) when the iPod is in the dock
- remove the iPod from the dock and still select and control the music on the screen via the Bluetooth module
- stream BBC iPlayer video directly to your TV from your iPod whilst in the dock
How it works
Connect the compact, detachable Bluetooth-equipped adapter module to your iPod. When your iPod/module are plugged into the wall mounted/free-standing
dock, the unit sends video (and audio) stored on your iPod to your AV equipment over the two supplied patch leads or for longer distances using
Category 5e cable, via the receiver.
When the iPod is removed from the dock but in its adaptor it allows you to transmit the audio (but not video) directly to the receiver via Bluetooth.
This functionality is restricted to Bluetooth operating distance of up to 10 metres between the receiver and the adaptor.
This set-up lets you control the iPod as usual, while enjoying hi-fi quality sound.
A remote control handset is supplied to allow you to control the iPod whilst it is in the docking station.
The Marantz IS301 receiver has a set of component video outputs in addition to the standard S-Video and composite video outputs found on the previous IS201 model.
This means that high definition video stored on your iPod can play on your TV. NB Composite video, stereo and digital audio leads are supplied.
A set of component video leads is an optional extra.
NB. The Marantz IS301 dock will work with, and charge, all iPods including the current 6th generation.
