Blu-ray means incredible Full-HD images, breathtaking sound and 5x the data capacity of DVDs. Now with the Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray disc player
you also get an entirely new movie-viewing experience, made possible by Final Standard Profile, which adds features never seen before, like
four Picture-in-Picture modes including Enhanced Commentary (from directors and actors), Backstage Pass, Peek Behind the Animation and Audio Mixing.
Why is the Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray video different?
At the heart of the new slimmer Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray disc player is the PHL Reference Chroma Processor with advanced P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing)
imaging technology which combines with UniPhier® — the Precise Digital Video processor — reproducing crisp, natural colors that are extremely faithful to the
original movie.
It does this by up-sampling the color information in decoded video signals, while the super high-speed P4HD up-converts content recorded in
480i/p, 720p or 1080i format to 1080p by correctly generating each pixel according to information drawn from up to 60 surrounding pixels.
The image motion of each pixel is then categorized into one of 16 levels, from stationary to super fast. Image quality is further enhanced by Diagonal
Processing, which creates smooth, sharp diagonal lines, and 3:2 Pull-Down, which optimizes the processing accordingly for film or video making the images
look natural and lifelike.
In addition to this the Panasonic DMP-BD35's HDMI output is Deep Color compatible, with 4,096 steps of gradation for even smoother, finer-quality images
that meet Hollywood's stringent demands, so you can experience movies just the way they were meant to be experienced.
The HDMI v1.3 output outputs 1080p pictures at 24 frames-per-second, as well as 1080/60p, 1080i, 720p and 576p/480p,
and supports HDMI CEC technology, or ‘Viera Link' in Panasonic-speak. DVDs are also be upscaled to 1080p.
All of this means that you get the best possible picture from your Blu-ray discs and existing DVDs on a Full HD
screen such as the Panasonic 50" TH-50PF10BK, 65" TH-65PF10BK,
103" TH-103PF9BK or the Pioneer 50" Kuro.
Digital Audio
With an HDMI v1.3 output, the Panasonic DMP-BD35 not only decodes Dolby Digital but also Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD, DTS HD Master Audio
and 7.1-channel PCM to give an exceptionally pure, accurate sound. UniPhier®'s
advanced processing capability decodes these audio signals with high precision and outputs them in bitstream form with no degradation. It also brings re-mastering
to Blu-ray for the first time, which compensates for data lost during the compression process creating a fuller sound.
Analogue Audio
The Panasonic DMP-BD35 can be set to output analogue audio as 2 channel stereo, 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel if you do not have an HDMI equipped AV receiver.
HD Networking with SD Card
The SD card slot on the Panasonic DMP-BD35 allows easy viewing of hi-def videos and photos on your HDTV. Videos shot with a HD camcorders onto an SD card are output
in their original 1920x1080 resolution, while still images taken with a digital camera are up-converted and output in 1920x1080 resolution1.
BD Live
The new DMP-BD35 player is Profile 2.0 enabled and BD-Live* compatible which adds to the range of features previously seen on the DMP-BD30. BD-Live lets you access to the Internet to download data
such as images and subtitles, and to join in quizzes and multi-player interactive games that are linked to bonus movie content contained on
Blu-ray disc. (*Actual functions vary depending on the Blu-ray disc media)
