The MuxLab Stereo AV/IR Pass-Thru Balun (500048 and 500049) allows one (1) composite video, one (1) stereo audio and one (1) IR emitter signal
to be transmitted via a single Cat5E/6 cable in a point-to-point connection. The MuxLab Stereo AV/IR Pass-Thru Balun features full audio bandwidth response
for HiFi applications and features built-in color-coded cable leads for ease of installation.
The MuxLab Stereo AV/IR Pass-Thru Balun works in conjunction with third party IR Remote Control equipment such as the Xantech
Dinkylink, Xantech Hiddenlink, or
Xantech Microlink, allowing the IR system to use the same Cat5E/6 cable as video and
audio for more cost-efficient cabling.
We supply these as a pair made up of 1 x 500048 and 1 x 500049. If you require a different combination, please call us.
If you have a single piece of equipment as an AV source, such as a DVD player, then you can place the IR connecting block at the TV end and
send the IR output over the Cat5e as shown in the schematic below. If you have multiple sources and need to have multiple emitters, then you will need
to place the connecting block at the source end (ie near the DVD, Sky, etc) and supply power to both ends. If you are unclear on this, please do
not hesitate to give us a call.
