The Marantz UD7006 is a 3D capable Blu-ray Disc player that combines HD surround sound with 3D picture.
The Marantz UD7006 creates a full High Definition 1080p image and outputs Blu-ray discs in a true film-like 24 frames per second. The HDMI 1.4a output
terminal supports 3D Blu-ray discs and Deep Colour. The stunning image via the analogue video outputs is created by a high quality 12-bit/297MHz video DAC.
In addition to the astonishing picture
quality from Blu-ray the UD7006 will not fall short on DVD as Anchor Bay’s VRS™ video processing takes care of and outputs 1080p from standard material
via HDMI1.4a port.
If you have a recent model AV receiver then you will benefit from the fact that it can output the HD audio formats Dolby True HD and DTS HD, alongside the
lossless 5.1 PCM signal converted from the HD audio. This means the Marantz UD7006 can be connected to every existing Marantz A/V receiver with HDMI inputs
for HD audio, even if there are no decoders on board.
The Marantz UD7006 also offers full Profile 2.0/BD-Live and DLNA1.5-certified specification, meaning that it has a network connection for downloading additional
content on movies like extra scenes, alternative ends, interactive games, actors information or director comments from the internet.
Video upconversion of DVD to 1080p
DVDs played on the Marantz UD7006 Blu-ray Disc player benefit from video upconversion to 1080p thanks to Anchor Bay’s ABT 2015 VRS™ video
processing, which outputs 1080p from standard material via the HDMI 1.4a port. "Upconversion" is the term used to describe the conversion of a lower
image resolution to an apparently higher one. In order to achieve that higher resolution, the UD7006 player fills in additional image data by assessing
existing pixels and intelligently predicting what the surrounding pixels should look like.
Upconversion is a great feature for owners of HD Ready digital TVs who want to watch their DVDs at a higher resolution that more closely matches
the capabilities of their TV. With the Marantz UD7006 upconverting to 1080p you get an HDTV picture from your existing DVDs to suit an HDTV ready
screen such as the Panasonic 50" TH-50PF10EK, 65"
TH-65PF10BK,
or the many other LCD and plasma Full HD screens.
Music
The Marantz UD7006 is a universal disc player and plays SACD, DVD-V, DVD-R/RW, SVCD, DivX and CD-R/RW discs, including MP3, WMA and JPEG files. It’s never been easier getting
a portable music player loaded. And of course with Marantz, audio excellence is guaranteed with a 24-bit/192kHz audio DAC and carefully selected
audiophile-grade components.
The design with the centered mechanism matches nicely with the Marantz receivers such as the NR1501, the SR5003 and the SR6003.
A dedicated RC005UD remote control complements the versatility of the UD7006.
