This small footprint AV receiver known as the GefenTV 'Home Theater Audio Processor' takes one HDMI source signal, converts the embedded digital audio to 5.1 channels of L/R analogue audio, and processes
the resultant audio to meet Surround Sound format requirements. The GefenTV 'Home Theater Audio Processor' drives up to 5 external speakers at 20 watts per
channel from a bank of high-quality speaker connectors for added convenience and versatility.
Use for:
- an entry level AV receiver when you do not need the massive power output of full size AV receivers
- secondary rooms where you would like home cinema surround sound but are limited on space
- when you upgrade to HDMI sources such as a Blu-ray Disc player but you to want to continue to use your existing non-HDMI input surround sound AV receiver
Supported output formats include:
- Dolby Surround Sound (AC3), up to 5.1
- Dolby Pro Logic II upconversion up to 5.1
- HDMI direct up to 8-channel LPCM
- Two channels of mirrored HDMI audio/video
How it works
Connect the HDMI source to the HDMI input connector of the Gefen Home Theater Audio Processor. An optional S/PDIF digital audio source may be connected
at the rear of the Processor. Attach audio output cables to the rear of the Home Theater Audio Processor on the S/PDIF or TOSLINK digital audio output connectors,
and/or on the L/R analogue audio connectors. Connect external speaker cables to the speaker outputs if amplified external analogue audio is desired.
Power up the Processor. Up to 5.1 channels of Surround Sound audio are extracted from the digital HDMI or S/PDIF and sources will now be heard on connected
outputs. Switching of input sources and fine-tuning of settings may be accomplished using the included IR remote or the front panel buttons.
A friendly LCD display helps guide operations.
The Gefen TV Home Theater Audio Processor outputs up to 5.1 channels of Surround Sound formatted analogue audio, regardless of the number of channels
of audio present in the source signal.
The Gefen Home Theater Audio Processor also supports a Bi-Amplified Front Left and Front Right configuration. This capability is available through two
additional dedicated connectors within the banks of powered and unpowered analogue audio outputs
