The GefenTV Wireless for HDMI Extender delivers a plug and play method of extending HDMI audio/video wirelessly approximately 10 metres (33 feet) in distance from your
SkyHD or freesat HD digibox, your Blu-ray player, Sony PS3, or other HDMI source, with a
perfect replication of high definition visuals up to 1080p at 30 fps, or 1080i at 60 fps and full digital and analogue audio support.
'One-to-one' or 'one to many'?
The GefenTV wireless for HDMI system may be used in one of two configurations:
Unicast Mode (One-to-One):
HDCP-compliant displays can be placed up to 30 metres (maximum) from the HDMI source. This solution uses one Sender and one Receiver unit to extend
resolutions of 1080p@24 or 1080i@60 along with 5.1-channel digital audio.
This configuration is ideal when you have equpment in a cupboard and a plasma or LCD screen mounted on the wall, and no connecting cable between the two. It means
you do not have to damage walls or decor by channelling an HDMI cable into the wall to reach the screen.
Broadcast Mode (One-to-Many):
In Broadcast Mode, a single GefenTV GTV-WHDMI sender is used to transmit one HDMI source to multiple GefenTV GTV-WHDMI-BR Broadcast Receivers to multiple displays
placed up to 30 metres from the HDMI source.
NB: When operating in broadcast mode the HDMI source cannot be HDCP encrypted but hi-def resolutions to 1080p@24 are still supported.
When purchasing a broadcast mode wireless system, the base package includes one Sender and one Receiver. Additional Receivers may be added to the package
as needed, see compatible products list below.
How it works
The GefenTV Wireless for HDMI Extender uses one Sender unit and one or more Receiver units. A short cable connects the HDMI input of the Sender unit to the
HDMI output of your HDMI source. At the display side, a short cable connects the HDMI output of the Receiver unit(s) to the HDMI input of your HDTV display(s).
The HDMI signal from the HDMI source travels to the HDMI display(s) over 5 GHz radio waves, and a vibrant and crisp High Definition picture emerges on the
HDTV display(s). Two channels of L/R analogue audio are available on the output of the Receiver unit for connection to an external amplifier if desired (as RCA jacks).
