The WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 balun set extends your HDMI version 1.3b 1080p video and Dolby TrueHD/DTS Master Audio (or lower audio formats),
with EDID setting up to 60m away from your HDTV HDMI source
using a single co-ax cable and has two way IR pass through.
How it works
The WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 sender unit sits next to your computer, Blu-ray player or SkyHD box. Use an HDMI cable to connect
your HDMI video source to the sender. The WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 receiver sits next to your HDMI display -
up to 60m away for 1080p (longer for 1080i as used by SkyHD). The display plugs into the back of the WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 receiver. A single co-ax
cable is required to connect the sender and the receiver units to each other. You should avoid wall plates or joins in the co-ax cable.
Cable distances and connections
Like all HDMI extenders, these units are intended to be used on a direct point to point basis, ideally without any wall data outlets or passing
through a connecting panel. We would recommend the use of good quality 75 Ohm satellite co-axial cable such as
Webro WF100 for best performance. Any connections in the co-ax cable will inevitably reduce the maximum distance that the HDMI signal can travel, and
may cause complete loss of
video and audio. Having said this the WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 system has the ability of buffering and amplifying. Series connection of WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75
achieves long distance transmission of HDMI signal so two pairs or more WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 can be used to create a larger distribution
(ie by daisy chaining).
If you have any doubts about your choice of extender please call us and we will do the best we can to advise you on your own particular situation.
NB: This HDMI extender system carries audio and video. Both the sender and receiver are powered, each by its own plug top power supply.
The EX0101-S22 unit also has built-in ESD (Electro Static Discharge) protection to avoid interference of the AV quality.
The WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 balun set is HDCP compliant.
The WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 baluns support relay IR signals in both directions, both the WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 transmitter and the WyreStorm EX-1COAX-IR-75 receiver having
an IR transmitter
and IR receiver port. This allows you to control say a Blu-ray player located centrally from the TV screen, but also to control the TV from the
source equipment. This makes the system suitable for both residential use and for commercial use.
