The low cost JST HDMI Cat5e/Cat6 Extender extends your HDMI video and audio up to 48m for 720p/1080i resolutions (eg SkyHD and freesat HD) or 28m for
1080p resolutions (eg Blu-ray). It supports HDMIv1.3 and deep colour.
How it works
The JST HDMI Cat5e/Cat6 Extender sender unit sits next to your computer, DVD player or any set-top box and is connected by a short HDMI lead (not included).
The receiver sits next to your HDMI display -
up to 48m away. The display plugs into the back of the HDMI Cat5e/Cat6 receiver. Two Cat5e or Cat6 cables, preferably one of which should be shielded, are required to connect the sender and
the receiver units to each other.
Cable distances and connections
Like all HDMI extenders, these units are intended to be used on a direct point to point basis, ideally without any wall data outlets or passing through a patch panel.
Any connections in the Cat5/6 cable will inevitably reduce the maximum distance that the HDMI signal can travel, and may cause complete loss of video and audio.
If you have any doubts about your choice of extender please call us and we will do the best we can to advise you on your own particular situation.
NB: This HDMI extender system carries audio and video. The receiver is powered by a small switch-mode 5V DC plug-top power supply and this also powers the sender over
the Cat5e cable.
The HDMI Extender is HDCP compliant.
