The Gefen Component Audio Extender allows you to send HDTV component signals together with analogue stereo or digital audio (co-ax - SPDIF, or optical - TOSlink) over
a single Cat5e cable. This makes it ideal for distributing SkyHD to another room, because if the remote room has an AV receiver with digital optical audio input
you can connect using the optical connection directly from the Sky TOSlink output. Alternatively, if you are connecting to a simple LCD or plasma with stereo speakers, you can
use the stereo output from Sky without the need for an AV receiver.
If you have a more recent SkyHD box with only HDMI output, you will need the VisionFC4
HDMI to component video converter.
How it works
The Gefen Component Audio Extender sender unit connects to any component video and audio source using the supplied component and RCA cables.
The receiver unit connects to your HDTV component video display and audio input up to 100 metres away. One Cat5e cable is used to connect the sender
to receiver for perfect video extension up to 1080p. The sender and receiver are powered individually by 5V power supplies.
