A wired system for routing Infra-Red back to source
components. Use with Cat 5e cable. Kit includes wall mounted IR sensor, RoomLink driver,
12 volt power supply, 2 Flood emitters (for equipment in cupboards) and 4
standard emitters with 2 Y-adaptors.
Extra IR wall sensors can be added to the system, either direct or daisy chained
together. The wall sensor is part of the range of QED wall mounted controls,
and can be fitted with
any of the System 45 metal faceplates to match your decor.
The QED Roomlink system relays Philips RC5 IR codes. If you need it to control Sky Plus, which uses Philips RC6 IR codes, you will require the QED RC6 Synthesizer (RC601).
You will also need the RC6 Synthesizer for transmitting IR to Apple TV and Windows Media Center PCs such as the Clever Technologies range.
The RC601 plugs into the 3.5mm jack socket, and includes the stick-on emitter. It takes its power from the RoomLink driver block.
Note that the RC6 Synthesizer does not permit the transmission of any other IR code types.
NB: Passing IR around your house
is a critical part of distributed entertainment, but it can be quite problematic
because it is also emitted by plasma screens and sun light. Careful location and correct
choice of quality components can make a major difference to the success of your system.
