The new Russound
MOD-VB video balun is a bi-directional composite video converter, which can be used
with Category 5 cable in any video distribution system. Sold in pairs, the MOD-VB
eliminates the need for bulky, costly co-ax cable by converting an unbalanced video
signal (RCA phono connector) to run over Cat 5 cable as a balanced signal and
back to unbalanced at the terminal end.
This is an ideal complementary system for feeding back video sources from a
CCTV camera to TV, VCR, or to a modulator for distributing around the home
when using the HomeCabling system.
It is also useful for use with the Imerge
SoundServer for transmitting to a small wall mounted LCD display for the SoundServer
menus, in rooms where there is no TV to receive them on.

The MOD-VB video balun fits into the Leviton Quickport system of wall plates - shown left. We supply both US style and
square UK screwless versions of
these plates in one and two hole versions. Please specify on the order form when requested.
NB: This is solely a video system. It will not transmit stereo audio or Infra-red control
signals like the Scion system.
Maximum distance for video transmission using the MOD-VB video balun over Cat 5 is
700 metres.
