The J S Technolgy RGB to Plasma VGA converter ensures that if your source equipment output is on SCART, its use will
give you the best possible picture on the plasma screen or projector with the analogue signal.
Many of our most popular video sources output using RGB SCART connection,
eg DVD players, Freeview boxes, Sky and Sky Plus. Usually these SCART connections at best will carry the signals in
RGB. In these transmissions the Horizontal (H) and Vertical (V) synch signals
are combined with the colour signals. This RGB to Plasma converter separates out the H and V synch signals
and filters them giving a true
RGBHV output, that goes into the VGA 15 pin connection on your plasma or projector.
We recommend the use of a J S Technology RGB to Plasma VGA
converter for any SCART output. In particular until Sky moves to HDTV transmission in 2006 we would recommend using this device
on Sky output.
Audio is passed through the converter without any modification, and output via the left and right phono outputs. For
surround sound situations use a separate audio output into your AV amplifier.
The J S Technolgy RGB to Plasma VGA converter measures just 150 x 85 x 48mm.
Important: For compatibility with plasmas and projectors check here. (PDF file 26Kb - Courtesy of JS Technology). In particular
please note that Philips plasma screens and Pioneer Media boxes are INCOMPATIBLE. LCD screens are also not compatible because LCDs tend to start
operating with a horizontal line frequency of 30kHz and not 15kHz as required by this device designed for plasma screens.
