The Gefen 1x2 HD Splitter allows satellite set-top boxes, DVD players, and other HDTV devices
with an HDMI output to be connected to two or more HDTV displays with DVI inputs. It is a flexible distribution hub that can accommodate
multiple displays when two or more HD Splitters are connected to create a larger distribution.
Fully HDCP Compliant
HDCP (high definition content protection) is a standard that is encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being
pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to an HDTV display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding
mechanism, the picture is relegated to “snow” or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images. In order to see HDTV
with HDCP compliance, both the source and display devices must be equipped with HDMI or DVI connections that can enable HDCP decoding,
such as the Gefen DVI or HDMI Splitters.
How it Works
The 1x2 HD Splitter is connected using an HDMI cable from the HDMI source to the HD splitter input. There are two DVI
outputs. DVI output 1 is the primary connection and is used for the main display. DVI output 2 follows the main display.
NB: The 1x2 HD Splitter is fully HDCP pass-through. The HD splitter only distributes video, not audio
