Gefen HDTV (DVI) 4x4 matrix switcher

The Gefen 4x4 HDTV Matrix switcher allows you to access 4 individual DVI digital video sources and display the output onto 4 DVI equipped HDTV displays. This is a true multi-switcher allowing you to make the most of your high quality DVI or HDMI DVD player, Sky HD satellite digibox, or other high definition AV equipment. For sources with HDMI connectors use HDMI to DVI converters, or HDMI to DVI connecting leads.

By combining the Gefen 4x4 HDTV Matrix switcher with either longer length DVI cables, HDMI cables, or with the Gefen DVI baluns, and an IR relay system, such as the Xantech MicroLink, it is easy to create a multiroom video distribution system of the highest quality. The Gefen 4x4 HDTV Matrix switcher requires no complex networking and is simple to install and operate.

Substituting the IR relay system with a multiroom audio system such as the Russound CAA66 or CAM, you can expand this into a multiroom AV system, feeding 4 high definition plasma screens or LCDs, with stereo sound, each viewer able to select the source remotely using the IR control relay system built-into the multiroom system.

The Gefen 4x4 HDTV Matrix switcher also has USB inputs and outputs for connection to computers.

Fully HDCP Compliant

HDCP (high definition content protection) is a standard that is encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a HDTV display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to “snow” or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images. In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source and display devices must be equipped with HDMI or DVI connections that can enable HDCP decoding, such as the 4x4 HDTV Switcher.
