The Russound Smart Media Server is a hard disc based sound and picture system
with a difference; it allows you to sort your music your way, by genre, by favourite song titles,
by artists or by themes. While listening, you can easily rate your music within each group enabling the server to anticipate the your
musical interests. In addition, the SMS3 utilizes Gracenote (aka CDDB) and MUZE an online database for automatic Metafile retrieval,
which provides you with useful information such as track, title, artist and even album art.
You can sort, store, show and share your digital photos and create your own slide show with soundtrack, because the Russound
Smart Media Server is digital photo ready.
The Russound Smart Media Server (SMS3) can hold up to 2500 hours of compressed music on the
160Gb hard disc (240 hours uncompressed) and can output 3 different audio sources simultaneously (eg
equivalent to an Imerge S2003-160Gb), except it has the addition of an RCA composite
video cable for your JPEG photos. This enables one of the listening/viewing zones to watch say holiday images, whilst
also listening to music.
The Russound SMS3-250 is the larger 250Gb version of the 3 source Smart Media Server offering extra capacity for your music library.
The Russound SMS3 incorporates RNET link. This enables the equipment to have 2 way communication with other RNET enabled devices
such as the Russound CAM6.6T multi-room audio system with built-in FM tuner, the Russound CAV6.6
multi-room audio and video system, and the Russound ST2 dual FM tuner.
This 2 way communication ability allows for example the UNO-S2 keypads on the CAV6.6 to display what is playing and to control
functions on the SMS3.
This unit is rack mountable and comes with rack ears included in the kit. It occupies 1U when in the rack.
New Touchscreen option
The new Uno-TS2 touchscreen from Russound is designed to work with all of the Russound RNET devices. It offers both
touch sensitive screen buttons and hard buttons for those commands most often used.
