At last, a subwoofer that looks so good...
you don't want to hide it away ! (but just be careful where you put your goldfish!)
The 150 Watt rating of this Anthony Gallo unit is for continuous RMS.
This means a continuous
output, all day long, of 150 Watts. It has a big heavy power supply and very high parts
quality. If measured at peak RMS, the MPS150 would easily pass for a 300 Watt
amplifier. The woofer, or piston driver/cone, is the heart of any speaker design,
and with the MPS-150 you can feel the bass at 24Mhz.
To call it heavy duty is an understatement. It weighs in at a hefty 7 kg.
The unique two piece design of the MPS-150 means that the amplifier and
subwoofer sections can be positioned together (one on top of the other), or
located separately - to allow you to place it under furniture.
Even though bass is omni-directional and subwoofers can be placed almost
anywhere, that does not mean you are getting optimal performance. In reality,
any position you choose will have some drawbacks, either in decor compromise
or sonically. The best way to remove the decor compromise is to use a beautiful
product. The best way to eliminate sonic compromise is to use two subs. Two subs give
you the ability to eliminate standing waves and other sonic problems while dramatically
increasing bass output. With the 2 piece design of the MPS-150, you can add an optional second
bass module to the sub amp/bass combination.
