The Gefen ex•tend•it 4x1 HDMI Switcher enables effortless HDMI source switching in multiple resolutions up to
1080p plus multi-channel digital audio (eg Dolby 5.1) to a single high definition
display, or suitable AV receiver, such as the Marantz SR9600 with HDMI switching. A simple and reliable solution, the 4x1 HDMI
Switcher links the video output from any four HDMI sources such as
Marantz DV9500 or Marantz DV6600,
or satellite set-top box to one HDMI display. Connection to a DVI display or
AV receiver, requires a simple DVI/HDMI adaptor or a HDMI to DVI cable.
This Gefen 4x1 HDMI Switcher completely eliminates the need to disconnect then reconnect multiple HDMI sources, saving time
by providing a fundamental tool that brings it all together behind the scenes. When all five devices (the display plus the four
sources) are connected to the 4x1 HDMI Switcher and powered on, you simply select which source you want to view on the
display using the IR remote that comes with it, or any universal remote.
NB: This product supports both digital video and digital audio signals.
Fully HDCP Compliant
HDCP (high definition content protection) is a standard that is encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being
pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a HDTV display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding
mechanism, the picture is relegated to “snow” or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images. In order to see HDTV
with HDCP compliance, both the source and display devices must be equipped with HDMI or DVI connections that can enable HDCP decoding,
such as the 4x1 HDMI Switcher.
How it Works
Simply connect your HDTV plasma or projector to the Switcher’s DVI output. Then, using the four high quality HDMI cables
that come with the 4x1
HDMI Switcher, plug each one into the four source devices, then connect them to the Switcher’s HDMI inputs. Once the source
devices and the HDTV are powered on and connected, you simply switch between source devices using the RMT-4IR remote control or
your own universal remote.
The 4x1 HDMI Switcher is HDCP pass-through.
