These QED two-way speaker switches connect and switch 2 pairs of speakers
from one stereo amplifier. Visually they are similar.
There are three alternative switches
in this range:
- SS20 - connects 2 pairs of speakers in parallel. Use for example where the
amplifier can handle impedance down
to 4 Ohms when both pairs of speakers are rated at 8 Ohms (unsure about impedence?
click here for more info). Suitable for use with the
WM14
wall mounted volume control.
- SS21 - as above but with gold plated binding posts for connections rather than screw
down terminals.
- SS22 - connects 2 pairs of speakers in series. Use to protect your amplifier.
Two pairs of 8 Ohm speakers in series present the amp with 16 Ohms using this switch.
The sound level will drop slightly, but your amp is safe.
Not suitable for use with the WM14 volume
control. Silver plated switch contacts. 150 Watts power rating.
