SceneStyle4 mood lighting controller

SceneStyle4 by Mode Lighting is a self-contained, four circuit remote controlled dimmer which fits into a standard UK double gang back box and uses the existing wiring, removing the need for rewiring. This makes it an ideal solution to replace existing 4 gang light switch or traditional rotary dimmers.

The SceneStyle is a scene lighting controller, allowing you to have pre-set lighting 'moods' for different activities, eg 'TV watching', 'party mood', 'romantic dinner' and so on. Lighting scenes can be swiftly created that will transform the atmosphere in your home to suit your mood or style, all at the touch of a button.

A style to suit your decor

The screwless clip-on metal faceplates of the SceneStyle4 are available in four standard finishes: brushed stainless steel, polished chrome, polished brass and white. They all have rounded corners and a slim profile against the wall. The SceneStyle4 buttons are available in either black or white to suit the faceplate you select.

Each button has an indicator light which can be set to one of seven different colours to suit your decor.

Each SceneStyle4 is supplied with an 8 button IR remote control handset that mimics all the controls on the control panel itself. In addition to scene selection, the remote (and the wall control) has a master raise and master lower button controlling all the lights selected in a particular scene. When programming you can also modify the fade rates when changing between scenes.

Advanced operation

For more advanced control the SceneStyle4 can be controlled by a learning remote such as the Philips Pronto, giving you a wider range of extra scenes including individual circuit control. A download file for the codes for the Pronto is given below.

Other switches and momentary contacts - including volt-free contact (NC - normally closed or NO - normally open) can be used for automating the system or simply to add an extra switch for two way switching.

The SceneStyle4 can also be programmed to operate when you are away or on holiday, simulating occupancy of your house using the 'Holiday Mode'.

Installation

SceneStyle4 dims all normal (incandescent) light bulbs, GU10 mains halogen, low voltage electronic transformers (trailing edge type) and other compatible lighting loads without buzzing.

NB: The Scenestyle requires a minimum lighting load per circuit of 50 Watts. It is not therefore suitable for LED lighting. It is also not compatible with magnetic low voltage lighting, ie wire wound or toroidal transformers.

A UK double gang 47mm deep back box is recommended.
