Imerge SoundServer S3000

The Imerge Soundserver S3000 is an upgrade of the definitive Imerge S2000 hard disc-based sound system that can hold thousands of tracks of music, in fact your whole CD collection! Like the outgoing S2000, your CDs are transferred with no special equipment or PC required. The music can be digitally compressed or held uncompressed or a mixture of both. A single output Imerge S3000 can serve multiple listeners simultaneously by interfacing it with NP200 Network players, or you can choose a mulitple output version - up to 4 independent outputs!

What's new on the Imerge SoundServer S3000?

The new Imerge SoundServer S3000 brings an all new Xiva software platform that introduce a range of new capabilities, whilst maintaining the audiophile quality, reliability and advanced funtionality of the Imerge S2000 Mk2.

Browse options have been improved to allow you to intuitively search for music by cover art, the era of music, the year of release and for individual tracks. In addition a new 'keyword search' function allows quick access to any specific selection. The new Xiva software enables rapid playlist creation; just mark multiple tracks to quickly create favourite track collections for parties.

The new web browser interface allows you to access the same TV control interface from any PC or Mac with a Flash enabled web browser and upgrade the software online. The new S3000 also provides direct access to media stored on Mac or Windows computers, enabling iPod connectivity, music import and export, cover art import and music streaming.

CD tracks are automatically listed, and album cover art retreived, via the built-in Internet connection. Listings are displayed on your TV, your PC or downloaded to your learning remote, eg Philip's Pronto, using the free software. Two way control and track viewing is acheived with a Flash enabled web based Pocket PC. (Neither the Philips Pronto nor the Pocket PC is included).

Imerge SoundServer S3000 in multiroom use

In multiroom situations the TV ouput can be distributed to all TVs in the house if you have a TV distribution system eg Labgear TV amplifier . For rooms without a TV, it can also be sent directly to our 4" TFT LCD wall mounted colour monitor. The monitor would be mounted next to a multi-room keypad and the SoundServer menus displayed.

Search capability is by artist, album, track, genre, cover art, era and year of release, and you can build your own playlists.

Imerge SoundServer S3000 Specifications

• Hard disc
  • The Imerge SoundServer S3000 has a hard disc of 80Gb (S3000 only), 160Gb, 250Gb or 400Gb depending on model chosen.
• Music capacity:
  • 160Gb: 240hrs uncompressed, 2659hrs maximum compression (standard on single output S3000 model)
  • 250Gb: 375hrs uncompressed, 4140hrs maximum compression (standard on two output S3002 model)
  • 400Gb: 630hrs uncompressed, 7000hrs maximum compression (standard on four output S3004 model)
  depending on the hard disc. Recording can be done uncompressed (exactly the same as the CD), compressed at 320Kb/s best quality MP3, compressed at 192VBR Kb/s MP3, or compressed at 128, 160 or 192CBR Kb/s MP3.
• Outputs
  • The SoundServer S3000 can be selected with 1 (S3000), 2 (S3002), or 4 (S3004) independent analogue outputs. The standard combinations of outputs and memory are: S3000-160Gb, S3002-250Gb and S3004-400Gb. Other combinations have been available until recently. While stocks last we show these below, but when stocks are gone only the standard combinations will be available. The fact that you can have single or multiple outputs means that the SoundServer can be a major part of your multi-room system in two ways, for example:
    • a SoundServer S3004 4 output model can be four of your input sources for multi-room audio with for example a Russound CAA66 conventional multi-room amplifier or
    • using a single source S3000 combined with a number of the Sonos Zone Players.
• Music transfer speed
  • The SoundServer S3000 now has fast music transfer, allowing you to digitally record from CD at up to 22 times the normal speed. It also features music transfer to iPods, PCs and Apple Macs.
