The Beamax M Tensioned series of high quality electric projection screens are a development of the popular
M series electric screens, but with automatic tab tensioning to ensure that the screen remains perfectly flat at all times
during use.
As with the standard M series, the M Tensioned screen is ideal for custom install home cinema rooms, allowing
control using the standard 2 way switch included in the kit, or any 2 way retractive switch to suit your decor. There is
also an optional remote control system. We supply these screens in the standard 16:9 home cinema widescreen format, but they can be
obtained in conventional 4:3 format upon request.
The Beamax M series is top of the Beamax electric screens range and has a matte white screen with a high gain of 1.5
ensuring a bright image even when running your projector on economy mode. It offers easy installation through flexible placement of the
mounting brackets on the aluminium casing. The Anti Leathermark Roller ensures a wrinkle-free surface and prevents curling of the
projection surface edges. The Tab Tensioning of this version makes a perfect viewing surface.
NB: Unlike the standard M-series screen, the screen drops from the rear of the container. The cable exits from the rear, top right of the container.
The Beamax M Tensioned screens have a 40 cm (16 inch) long top black border that prevents neck strain. The black top border allows you to lower
the screen to the right viewing height. A projection screen that's too high up will force you to look up, which really becomes a pain after 30
minutes or so. For higher ceilings Beamax can increase this top tab from 40cm to 70cm maximum, at no additional charge.
And, when you have a low ceiling, you can reduce the length of this top yourself through simple adjustment.
Control Systems
Automated control
By using a Beamax 12V trigger (part number 10539), providing your projector has a 12V output, you can trigger the screen to drop when the projector is turned on. The
electronics are contained within the box shown above.
For a wiring schematic of the 12V trigger click here:
If your projector does not have a 12V trigger output, you can use the Beamax 10550 IR trigger kit. This includes an IR transmitter that fits in the 240V
power line connected to the projector (see photo, item at the top), and an IR receiver (see photo bottom item) that fits in place of the screen switch.
The receiver of this system can be used alone if you require the screen to be raised and lowered using an IR remote control.
RF Remote control
The Beamax 10019 kit is a complete set used to remotely control any electrical projection screen. It consists of a receiver (10016), a handheld control unit (10017) and a wall mounted control unit (10018).
IR Remote control
The Beamax 10622 kit is a complete set used to remotely control any electrical projection screen using Infra-Red.
It consists of an IR control unit, an IR receiver module, and a handheld control unit. Note that this system requires 'line of sight' between
the remote control and the IR receiver.
For the 10622 manual click here.
Sizes shown are total screen dimensions including borders of approx 5cm on each edge; additionally, the screen has a 'tail' (ie extra border) at the
top of the screen. You must specify, using the message area in the shopping cart, what this top border needs to be for your particular situation (up to a maximum of 70cm). This top border will determine how high your screen sits
off the ground. With the M-Tensioned screen the screen position is fixed at this height because the screen must extend fully in order to trigger the
tensioning arms. Figure in brackets is diagonal of viewing area.
