Ethernet over Coax is a revolutionary technology that provides broadband data access of 100Mbps alongside existing TV signals over your standard TV co-ax cable.
This technology is already used by Cable TV companies (eg Virgin Media) to provide subscribers with broadband access using existing Cable TV structure.
The Technetix injectors and wall outlets allow you to take advantage of this technology and build a complete Local Area Network (LAN) using your existing
home TV distribution system. It can also be used in simple point to point situations to take advantage of existing runs of Coax
cable where an extra RJ45 data outlet is required.
If you want to build a LAN using Technetix injectors and wall outlets, we strongly advise you to refer to the list of approved Ethernet switchers
and routers below. These have been tested by Technetix and are approved for use with their equipment. If you have an existing router that you want
to continue to use, then use one of the approved Ethernet switchers between the Technetix injectors and your existing router. Not all routers and
switchers will work with this technology.

Technetix ECS-1001 Ethernet over Coax injector
The ECS1001 is a specially designed Ethernet injector that allows the injection of a 100BaseT Ethernet signal to be combined with the RF signal,
providing a combination signal as the output on the Coax cable. The unit works both ways and can also be used to extract the Ethernet signal and RF signal from
a combined signal at the receiving point.
The ECS-1001 consists of a small metal housing with one satellite F type connector for RF in, one RJ45 connector for Ethernet in and one
satellite F type connector for RF combination signal out. The unit can be attached to any surface using screws through the positioning lugs.
For incorporation into an existing TV distribution system, eg using the Labgear HDU681 or HDU641,
we would suggest using an Ethernet injector on each of the RF outputs from the TV distribution amplifier.
The RJ45 connectors would then be patched into a central
Ethernet switcher or broadband router, thereby giving Ethernet access at every TV location.
Technetix TEWO-2100 Ethernet over Coax wall outlet
The Technetix TEWO-2100 wall outlet provides a neat combination outlet at each TV point. The wall outlet is supplied complete with a UK adaptor
to allow it to fit onto a standard UK single gang back box and has one standard male IEC TV outlet and one RJ45 data outlet.
The wall outlet faceplate is supplied in a cream finish; the wall adaptor is white, see photo at top of page. No other colours are available.
The system is quick and easy to install, requiring no special tools.
