Whilst there are a number of iPod freestanding docking/recharging units, the iPort’s innovative design is the only system
that switches between streaming audio/photos and syncing to iTunes® with the touch of a button.
This makes the iPort FS (Free Standing) easy for the entire family to use the Apple iPod™ to enjoy their digital music and digital photo collections throughout the entire home. The Sonance iPort provides quick docking and
access to the iPod photo, iPod mini, iPod with Click Wheel, iPod touch and iPhone.. The included iPort connections wallplate allows the iPort to connect to and play through practically any local
or whole-home audio system. The DC power supply (also included) charges the iPod while it is docked in the iPort.
The Sonance iPort has two settings allowing it to be used as a source (fixed line level) input to a multiroom audio system,
or as a source into a local power amp such as the Sonance Sonamp. In this latter arrangement the iPort should be connected to a stereo line level volume control.
There are five versions of the Free Standing iPort:
- FS1 - Charges iPod when docked. Unbalanced audio and video output via RJ45 connectors, when docked. Unbalanced audio and video "Basic Connection Box" included. Power supply included.
- FS2 - As above with the addition of a built-in IR receiver. Remote control not included.
- FS3 - As for FS2 with the addition of balanced audio. This allows the iPort to be located up to 150m away from the included wall plates, used for
connecting the iPort to your existing system. A pair of audio wallplates plus the "Advanced Connection Box" are included.
- FS4 - As for FS3 with the addition of a factory pre-mounted RS232 module for two way communication. This also allows display of the metadata on the control device, eg playlists
track, artist, etc
- FS5 - As for FS4 with the addition of a pre-loaded balanced video. A pair of video wall plates are included. This allows the iPort to be up to 75m from the video display.
