Product Description

Multicast from Blustream, does exactly what it states. Cast Video stream to multiple displays units. The Blustream UHD Multicast distribution platform allows virtually latency free (1 frame) distribution of HDMI video over a 1GB Network switch. The Multicast system is fully scalable and allows you to build your video distribution system as and when you are ready.

NB: If you are adding the IP200HD products to a system already installed with IP100HD units, you will need to ask for your new IP200HD units to be downgraded with the correct software

What does it do

Using the Blustream Multicast video distribution products, you can watch all of your remotely stored source equipment on any video display unit that has been equipped with a transmitter and receiver. The Multicast products are suitable for residential or commercial installations.

One of the most useful features for commercial or educational environments is the ability to add a receiver to each video display unit in one location and create a fantastic video wall effect. Once you have created this feature, within the configuration tool, it is possible dissect your multiple screen set up and create a split screen feature. This can be extremely useful for messaging services, marketing and info displays.

The Blustream Multicast Receiver has an in-built video scaler which can both up-scale and downscale video signals allowing the best picture quality possible at each display. Just to note if you have a  4K source, the output to the display unit will only be 4K, if the display unit supports this resolution

What do I need

Each source device requires one transmitter and each video display unit will require a receiver (separate purchase). By purchasing the units individually the distribution system/network can be added to at any point. In addition you will need a Layer 3 managed network switch if you a going to have multiple source and multiple devices.

Transmitter

The IP200UHD-TX is an industry leading 4K HDMI transmitter that using lossless compression technology delivers HDMI, Bi-directional IR and RS-232 up to lengths of 100m over a single CAT cable. The IP200UHD-TX can be powered via PoE from the Network switch or locally should the switch not support PoE.

Receiver

The IP200UHD-RX is an industry leading 4K HDMI receiver that using lossless compression technology delivers HDMI, Bi-directional IR and RS-232 up to lengths of 100m over a single CAT cable. The IP200UHD-RX can be powered via PoE from the Network switch, or locally should the switch not support PoE.

Managed Network Switch (Not required for all set up scenarios)

Blustream recommended that you check compatible network switches for the Multicast products via this link, you can also find simple Setup instructions in this area.

**It is possible to integrate the Blustream CM100 with Multicast products for TCP/IP, RS-232 and IR control of your system.

Installation is simple

Click here for the schematic detailing the install of a simple one to one system, no managed network switch required. As you will see from the schematic, by attaching the Multicast transmitter to your source device via a HDMI lead, then connect the receiver to the transmitter via a cat5/5e/6 cable. Finally connect your receiver to your display unit with an HDMI cable. Once both transmitter and receiver have been recognised on the network, you can commence with the configuration. From the rear of the receiver unit  The IR cable will need to be connected to either the Tx or Rx port dependent on which way you are sending the IR Control. If you are distributing the audio through speakers that are independent of your TV, these will also need to be connected via the rear ports on the receiver.

For a one source to multiple displays, again a network switch is not required and it is possible to daisy chain the receivers from display to display. However you should be aware that this could cause video latency between displays on a video. So therefore it is intended for a commercial display scenario rather than a residential video wall distribution scenario.

If you are planning on distributing multiple sources to multiple displays, you will require a Layer 3 Network Managed Switch for the routing of each source to display, the network switch is enabling the video to be distributed. You will also need a CM100 to bridge to your current network with the Blustream network to enable control via Tablet, iPhone or Android. This set up offers an unlimited amount of configurations.

For a Video Wall set up the schematic details the necessity of one receiver per display unit would be required for a  Video Wall fed via the managed network switch. As previously stated it is possible to split your Video Wall into section. For example if you had a 2×6 Video Wall you could stream a movie to the top 4 displays and advertising of information to the bottom 2 displays.

Configuration

When installing the transmitter and receiver the configuration is simple, via a tick box for allocation of transmitter to source and receiver to display. If you would like to change of configuration of the video wall transmitters and receivers can be re configured to a new source or display unit location. Check out the user manual for configuration instructions. This product is designed for implementation by a qualified installer due to the manual configuration and is not a plug and play product.
