Product Description

The Labgear LDU604G is designed to distribute any combination of Sky, Sky+, FM, DAB, UHF and CCTV signal around your home and is 4G/LTE Ready.

The built-in mode switch optimises the unit according to the requirements – either for systems with a satellite receiver , or those without.

This is the replacement for the HDU641G model.

Features

The LDU604G home distribution amplifer unit has evolved to incorporate all of the features that are required.

Both the LDU604G anfd the LDU608G have the capability to combine satelite; FM, DAB, UHF, and CCTV on to a single drop cable, with the addition of the facility for SKY+

Distribute your satellite TV, UHF TV, VCR and DVD around your home with this distribution unit by Labgear. Two versions are available, the LDU604G and the new Labgear LDU608G. The LDU604G delivers to the main set-top box location plus 4 other outlets, ie 5 in total. The LDU608G (MRX390) delivers to the main set-top box location plus 8 other outlets, ie 9 in total. Both have Infra-Red pass through, providing a return path for IR signals in a remote room. This means that with the addition of a HandyLink set, not only can you watch the VCR in a remote room but you can also control it using your existing IR remote control.

Modulated CCTV, FM radio and DAB can also be distributed via these units. Both units have LNB1 and LNB2 input and downlinks required by SkyPlus and SkyHD.

If you want to expand your system beyond the 8 TVs offered by the LDU608G, then add another LDU604G or LDU608G and split the uplink between the two of them using a Channel Plus splitter/combiner.

NB: These are switchable versions of the HDU amplifiers. They have a switchable direct internal connection between the UHF antenna and CCTV inputs to the distributed TV outlets. To allow the output of a VCR and set-top (Sky) box to be distributed to all TVs the UHF signals must be fed to the uplink input (via the downlink usually). This is to allow the remodulated output of a VCR and set-top box to be distributed.

Wiring schematics: Two Sky box locations, only one location to be used.

If you have two possible locations and you intend using just one of these and not the other then follow this schematic.

See Tech Info

Wiring schematics: Two Sky box locations, both locations to be used

This is suitable for “”Sky Multiroom””, where you have both a SkyHD box and a Sky Plus box, or Sky Plus and Sky digital, or a combination. In the schematic shown, the Sky box at main location 1 would normally be the digibox that would be controlled by an IR relay system such as a Global Sky mini tvLINK Pro

Wiring schematics: One location with two SkyHD (or two Sky Plus boxes)

If you have two SkyHD or Sky Plus digiboxes located in the same place, say in an AV cupboard near to the TV distribution amp, then follow this schematic.

Although it is possible to distribute your DVD around the home by modulating the signal through the VCR, this often causes a poor image due to interference. It is better to use a separate modulator, as you must do for any CCTV signal that you put onto the system. Click here for a range of high quality modulators.

IR control single Sky box

If you only require IR control of a Sky (or Sky+) digibox, then you can use a simple devices calledGlobal Sky mini tvLINK Pro. This is a modified IR target that works directly with the Sky digibox without the need for a base unit. tvLINK will not control other items of equipment; for this you need Global tvLINK Plus.

IR control Sky box and Sky+ box

For this arrangement you will need a Global Super Plus Combiner, to ensure control of both boxes individually. You will also need a tvLINK in each remote room.

IR control of multiple SkyHD and Sky+ boxes

To control more than one Sky+ or SkyHD boxes you will need a Global Super Plus Combiner, to ensure control of all boxes individually. You will also need a Global Sky mini tvLINK Pro in each remote room. For wiring schematic see above.

IR control multiple IR sources

You can expand the standard Global Sky tvLINK system to allow you to control other items of IR controlled equipment. The Global tvLINK Plus works together with the Global Sky mini tvLINK Pro receivers over the existing co-ax cable connecting the TVs to control any piece of equipment that is operated via an infrared signal using the normal Philips RC5 or RC6 codes.

The Global tvLINK system relies on a continuous path for the signal to be passed from the sensor to the IR emitter near the TV. It is important that you use “”non-isolated”” TV outlets at both ends (see Labgear range of outlets). Extra set top receivers (MRX110) are available for additional rooms.

Need a masthead amplifier? The Labgear LDU608G and LDU604G both have a 12 volt line power output on the UHF aerial input for powering a masthead UHF pre-amplifier. We offer the Labgear PUM111/PUH111 wideband screened units. These low noise pre-amps have weatherproof outer plastic housings, F type connectors throughout and are ideal for digital signals. They offer 16dB amplification (PUM111) or 26dB amplification (PUH111).

This system re-transmits IR not IrDA. It will not work with devices using IrDA eg Pace/NTL/UK Digital Cable systems. Pace D14001N uses IR and is OK. Satellite set top boxes use IR (RC5/6) and will be OK.

Bang and Olufsen IR uses a higher frequency of IR and is not compatible with this system.
